Accessibility statement

Our commitment

This website is designed and built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at level AA. We build software for the public sector, where accessibility is a requirement rather than a preference, and we hold our own site to the same standard.

What we have done

  • Every text and background colour combination used on this site has been contrast-tested against WCAG 2.1 relative luminance, not estimated. Body text on white measures 19.57:1 and white text on our dark surfaces measures at least 15.54:1.
  • Our brand orange measures 2.84:1 on white, which fails at every text size. It is therefore never used for text on light backgrounds - only on dark surfaces, where it measures at least 5.48:1, and as a background behind near-black text, where it measures 6.90:1.
  • The site is operable by keyboard throughout, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element and a skip link to the main content.
  • Content is structured with semantic HTML and a logical heading order, and is rendered on the server so it does not depend on JavaScript.
  • Motion is minimal, brief, and disabled entirely for anyone whose system requests reduced motion.

Known limitations

Some partner and client logos are supplied as images by the organisations they belong to. Where a logo conveys meaning it carries a text alternative; where it is decorative it is hidden from assistive technology.

Reporting a problem

If you find any part of this site difficult to use, please tell us at ask@chmsdigi.com. Describe the page and what went wrong, and we will respond and fix it. We treat accessibility defects as defects, not as feature requests.
