What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Some are needed for a site to function. Others measure how a site is used, or support advertising. Similar technologies such as browser local storage work the same way and are covered by this policy.

Our approach

We use Google Analytics 4 with Consent Mode v2. Analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation are all set to denied by default. They remain denied unless you press Accept in the cookie banner.

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies on this site, and we do not sell or share data collected here with advertising networks.

Cookies and storage we use

Strictly necessary, always active:

• cookie_consent (browser local storage) records whether you accepted or declined, so we do not ask on every page. It contains only the word accepted or declined, and no personal data.

Analytics, only after you accept:

• _ga identifies a browser across visits so returning visits are not counted as new. Expires after two years.
• _ga_5MZL495D32 maintains the analytics session state for this specific property. Expires after two years.
• Google Analytics is provided by Google. Data is processed under Google’s own terms, and we do not enable advertising features on this property.

What we do with analytics data

We look at which pages are read, how people arrive, and where they leave. We use that to improve the site. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine analytics data with enquiries you send us.

Changing your choice

Your choice is stored in your browser. To change or withdraw it, clear this site’s storage in your browser settings and the banner will appear again on your next visit.

You can also block or delete cookies entirely in your browser, and install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies will not stop this site working.
